Veteran Students at ESTEEM

Veteran Application Checklist

The ESTEEM graduate program is grateful for the military service of our active duty and veteran Soldiers, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, Airmen, and Marines.

With the skills and technical knowledge gained from military service, many veteran students are well-equipped to pursue paths in entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, STEM, and other specialized business fields.

We welcome all interested veteran applicants to explore this page for insight into the ESTEEM student experience and information regarding veteran-specific tuition assistance programs, explained in greater detail below.

Funding Your ESTEEM Degree

Part of showing appreciation for our servicemen and women includes offering scholarship opportunities and tuition support to help our veteran students pursue their academic goals with less financial burden.

In addition to scholarships offered by ESTEEM, U.S. veterans are often able to fund their degree with benefits from the federally funded GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program, supported by the Veterans Administration.

Assuming a 100% benefit level, the financial picture for eligible veterans is as follows for 2023–2024:

Graduate Tuition and Fees

($62,430)

GI Bill tuition funding

$27,120

VA Yellow Ribbon funding

$17,655

ND Yellow Ribbon funding

$17,655

TOTAL TUITION AND FEES COST AFTER GI BILL AND YELLOW RIBBON FUNDING

$0

Veteran students at Notre Dame may also be eligible for up to $1,599 in the form of a monthly housing stipend and $1,000 annually to be used toward the purchase of books and supplies.

Altogether, this means a veteran student could complete their ESTEEM graduate degree with little to no out-of-pocket expense.

For more information regarding the financial commitment for the current academic year from ESTEEM and the University, please refer to the University of Notre Dame Registrar’s veteran student information page and click on “Graduate Information Sheet.”
