Germán Estrada Mendoza

Prior to Notre Dame, Germán was a part-time professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). His areas of specialization are Business Valuation, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Entrepreneurship. He has been teaching corporate finance to undergraduate and graduate students since 2010. Also, he was engaged in several corporate and startup projects as an independent consultant.

In 2017, Estrada Mendoza co-founded 90pct, a tech startup focused on providing financial tools for small business owners in Latin America. The company was launched in the USA, moved to Perú in 2018, and stopped operations in late 2019. TinkuApp was 90pct’s core product, a web application that replaced complex spreadsheets in the small business financial and accounting reporting process. It offered a tool for simple transaction registration and automated reports for business owners.

Before 90pct, Germán led the valuation practice as Manager in the Deals & Corporate Finance team at the PwC office in Lima, Perú. His clients were the most prominent financial groups, investment banks, and private equity funds in Peru. He was team manager leader in financial restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and other engagements.

Estrada Mendoza also has experience in the investment industry. He is an expert in fundamental analysis. In 2012 Germán was the Head of Equity Research at Diviso, a boutique investment bank in Peru. He also worked for the Investment Banking division at BBVA in Peru as an Equity Research analyst.  

Germán holds a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering, Science, and Technology Entrepreneurship from University of Notre Dame, awarded in 2017, and a Master in Finance and Administration from Escuela de Negocios EOI – Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) awarded in 2009. He also holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (PUCP), awarded in 2008.
