Sloan Valve - Connected Solutions

Student: Niamh Collins, 2019-2020

Sponsor: Sloan Valve, Franklin Park, IL

This project entails the integration of Tooshlights functionality in the Sloan Valve connected bathroom ecosystem. Tooshlights offer a unique solution to long bathroom queues and stall occupancy ambiguity by implementing sensor technology in communication with LED lights over the bathroom stall to signify stall occupancy. The bathroom traffic is monitored and presented to potential bathroom users in the form of an app or kiosk, while also presented to the building’s maintenance staff, giving them direct insights into the stalls that may need attention due to high usage. Sloan Valve hopes to integrate the capabilities of Tooshlights into their existing connected bathroom system, which is already installed in airports, universities, stadiums and other such venues across the world.
