Saint Louis University, 2022
Biomedical Engineering Major

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I obtained my degree in Biomedical Engineering at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic in May of 2020. Given the circumstances, I was motivated to help the world through the healthcare industry. After working for a couple of medical devices companies, I realized that I wanted to create a bigger positive impact on the world not motivated by money but by innovation and entrepreneurship.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Every year, more companies release a sustainability goal in order to demonstrate their commitment to fight climate change. In order to create this sustainability missions, a strategy and a vision needs to be developed as well as an assessment of what the company is currently doing in these matters. Marmon Foodservice Technologies is a company in the food and beverage equipment industry. This company has addressed the concerns of many its clients when it comes to sustainability goals. However, MFT would like to start getting ahead of these requests and develop a wholistic sustainability strategy. This capstone project focuses on exploring the research and assessment necessary to further develop MFT's sustainability strategy.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, I hope to get involved with an impactful idea or a meaningful business for the world. I would like to take on a greater responsibility than I have in my previous positions. I hope to work with a startup company, or the entrepreneurial department of an established company. I'm interested in helping future Notre Dame students and people from my communities in any way possible.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love Latin Dancing. I used to be part of an acrobatic Salsa Dancing Team in college called Sazón! You can find me at local clubs doing social salsa and bachata dancing. I also like playing soccer, cooking, and working out.

I am passionate about advocacy and uplifting Hispanic and Latino communities. I can also make some great Mexican food.
