Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM to challenge myself in a new and unique environment such as this. I first heard about the program my freshman year of undergrad and had my eyes on it ever since! In it, I believe that ESTEEM will push my boundaries - undiscovered or not- to help me grow in life, love, and learning of my mind and as an individual.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

I am working with BI Incorporated, a company headquartered in Boulder, CO that specializes in electronic monitoring. Their tech primarily focuses on supervision services for parolees, probationers, pretrial defendants, and those in the immigration process. Their monitoring technologies rely on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), which are susceptible to jamming and spoofing, for position information. Connectivity is served by cellular carriers whose coverage in rural and remote regions may be limited. My goal is to help solve these problems by evaluating the technology and specifications of Low Earth Orbital (LEO) satellite companies to see if their solutions provide an answer to those issues.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

My major goal is to work with a leading outdoors-related company, or an athletic organization, more specifically hockey. I have always had a passion for the two fields and hope to be able to contribute to them in a major way.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Being a former college hockey player I will try to get on the ice whenever I can, I love the game. Not only that, I am an avid fly-fisherman and enjoy anything outdoors related, as well as concerts, books, and golf.
