Class of 2019-2020
College of the Holy Cross, 2019
Why I chose ESTEEM:
Having studied both physics and music production in undergrad at College of the Holy Cross, the interdisciplinary approach of ESTEEM reflects my scholastic journey in a way few programs can. The opportunity to solve real world, real time dilemmas is exciting to me, and I could not ask for a better place than Notre Dame to further my education. I am confident that my time in the ESTEEM Program will give me the chance to understand things from new and varied perspectives and challenge me to rethink common notions all while equipping me to confidently formulate new ideas, approaches, and solutions.
My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:
I am conducting my capstone project on Sports Fan Engagement with Professor Metoyer from the College of Engineering. We are specifically focusing on how to incorporate AI and data visualization into a platform for sports fans. Real time statistics presented in the form of visualizations provides a new and desired perspective for fans across all sports. As an avid sports fan myself, I am excited to see how we can develop a more interactive and immersive sports experience. Mainstream implementation of this kind of inclusive platform can change the landscape of how sports fans engage with sports content.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
My ultimate goal is to forge a career path that draws on my knowledge, experience, and passions to develop products that can improve niches of society, and hopefully gain a level of success to which I can mentor the next generation of innovators.
What I like to do when I'm not working:
I like being active and spending time outdoors. While I like to workout, I prefer the social and competitive aspects of playing sports. I have played lacrosse and soccer my entire life, but I never shy away from learning a new sport. When I am relaxing, I am usually listening to music, strumming my guitar, tinkering, or spending time with friends.
