Why I chose ESTEEM:

As my senior year of college was approaching, I struggled to find what I wanted to do after graduation because I felt pulled in so many directions that all were appealing and amazing. After finding ESTEEM, I knew it was the perfect way for me to combine my three passions of healthcare, science and social entrepreneurship while also pursuing a master's degree. I was very interested in the opportunities and connections that ESTEEM and University of Notre would help me make as well as the experiences I would gain.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

I am working with BioTherVax, a biotechnology startup based out of Chile, that developed a vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This virus effects over 300 million people globally and BioTherVax's vaccine will help to prevent and protect vulnerable populations against this virus. I am very excited to be working on creating a commercialization plan for this vaccine and to be able to make an impact in the healthcare field. I hope to learn more about the public health sector especially about vaccines and other therapies that are used to treat many diseases such as tuberculosis, RSV, polio and more. This project serves as a great way for me to combine my passion for healthcare and my interest in learning more on the innovative side of medicine and how vaccines like these come to market.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

I hope that after ESTEEM I will still be able to work in the healthcare field in some capacity. My biggest dream is to attend medical school, but I am very interested in exploring the innovative side of medicine and finding new passions there.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

When I am not working, I like to sit outside on the grass with a good book and a lemonade. When I'm not reading, I really enjoy traveling to new places and taking pictures of the landscape.
