Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM to expand my horizons beyond narrow technical roles and position myself to take on intersectional opportunities where I can effect meaningful change. ESTEEM offered the perfect opportunity to leverage my technical background and apply my skill set to meaningful work at the forefront of technological innovation, while affording me the chance to build out business acumen to ensure my work can have a meaningful impact.

What is your capstone project?

Flagship Management is the leading provider of turnkey equipment services in the physical therapy, healthcare, and luxury home fitness markets. As part of their full cycle service offerings, Flagship collects data from serviced equipment in the field to provide enterprise-wide reporting to clients, enabling them to make more informed decisions to maximize ROI, maintain compliance, and deliver the highest level of care to patients. To build on this offering and afford clients crucial insights into their equipment fleet, Flagship is developing a novel analytics platform to make detailed reporting available at their customers' fingertips, helping them to manage capital assets more effectively and ensure that they can focus on serving their patients. This project will build on the work of previous ESTEEM students and deliver a product roadmap for the Flagship analytics offering, from market, technical and financial analyses, to prototyping and developing a go-to-market strategy.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I hope to explore roles in the technology space after graduation, with an eye towards applying my skills to positions in Product Management or Human Computer Interaction. My favorite part about working with technology has always been its empowering effect on people’s lives, so I would love to focus my work on human-facing technologies with a real potential to enact positive change.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I’m a film fanatic and keen writer, so you’re likely to find me working on my next piece as a freelance entertainment journalist. I love to catch up with friends over coffee and burn off steam with an evening gym session and a good podcast! A theatre nerd at heart, I’ll never miss the opportunity to take in a show. More recently, I’ve picked up the violin again after a number of years hiatus to try my hand at some traditional Irish tunes!
