Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM because I want to learn how to be an entrepreneur who create innovative solution to help people live their best life.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Blockchains are closed systems which operate and execute smart contracts based on data from their native ledgers. For blockchains and Web3 to do business with off-chain assets, blockchain oracles exist to facilitate communication and data sharing between the two. These communications can be off-chain to on-chain (e.g. delivering real-world data to chains) or on-chain to off-chain (e.g. smart contracts triggering API calls within legacy systems).

Based on the data available to Web3, smart contract developers have been able to create a multitude of new and exciting applications. From DeFi applications to decentralized betting and insurance applications, developers are only limited by the data and operations which are available to them on-chain.

In lock step with the rise of Web3 has been the development of tokenized financial assets. Of primary interest to BlockPortal is the growth of tokenized real-world assets. Tokenization provides a novel infrastructure for investing, transacting, and managing assets which are traditionally slow-moving and illiquid.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I would like to continue building my skills in product design and delivery to the market by working in a startup. Long term, I see myself cofounding startups and creating the next disruptive technology solving real problems back home, Nigeria and all over the world.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Usually I spend some time researching about new technologies and what's new in the tech space. Since I got here though, I started learning and cooking on my own. I think I have gotten better in it now and I enjoy doing it every time I am not busy. Yes, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen!
