University College Cork, Ireland, 2017
Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Why I chose ESTEEM:
ESTEEM, for me, represented the perfect balance of adventure and education. I came to the program hoping to develop new strengths and find new interests while meeting brilliant new people and experiencing new things, and I've been amazed by the experience so far.
My capstone thesis project and why I'm excited about it:
I'm working on finding healthcare applications for the next generation of short-range 3D laser scanning technology from NeoPhotonics, a telecommunications company based in Silicon Valley. The potential to cause a paradigm shift in a field as innovative as med-tech is hugely exciting to me, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work towards this goal with a world-renowned electronics manufacturer.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
I hope to continue my adventure, whether it's in South Bend, elsewhere in America or back home in Ireland. I'd love to explore the field of Design Thinking more deeply and find fulfilling and rewarding work in the area.
What I like to do when I'm not working:
I love to travel - seeing new places, meeting new people and sharing ideas are some of my favorite things to do. Aside from that, I like getting creative with music, photography, design and the occasional craft beer.
