Why I chose ESTEEM: The concept of creating something out of nothing, of realizing a vision that no one else can see, or creating a reality that would not and could not exist but through my own efforts, has always bewitched me. This is why I have always loved creating art, and when ESTEEM offered me the chance to apply that passion to entrepreneurship - to innovating products and starting companies with the potential to change the world - I signed my name and never looked back.

My capstone thesis project and why I’m excited about it: This year I am working AddEvent, Inc., an API software startup based in Silicon Valley. Michael Nilsson, the founder of AddEvent, is a software engineer who creates simple yet powerful software that companies around the world rely on for their businesses every day. I am extremely excited about this opportunity to apply what I am learning in my classes to make a difference in a real-life startup, and to learn more about software development from an expert in the field.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM: I am moving out to Silicon Valley after ESTEEM to make the best use I possibly can of the skills that God and ESTEEM have given me.

What I like to do when I’m not working in Innovation Park: I love camping in the pristine Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota, and generally getting outside as much as possible. I spend much of my free time debating with myself about the pros and cons of another cup of coffee vs. an extra hour of sleep.
