Capstone Project Abstract:

The Reboot Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers a 12-month evidence-based program that challenges and empowers Veterans and First Responders through physical fitness, nutrition, mental wellness, and immersive personal development, culminating in the symbolic summit of a Colorado 14,000' mountain. The Reboot Project is seeking to establish a sustainable funding solution to generate at least $200,000 annually. This crucial initiative aims to support its impactful programming for Veterans and First Responders, who are referred to as 'Heroes'. Currently, the organization's financial support is dependent on inconsistent one-time donations, a few business sponsorships, and a small trust, which limits its ability to plan long-term, scale programs, and meet the growing demand for its services. This capstone project will focus on researching diversified funding strategies, including conducting a funding landscape analysis, developing donor personas and pipelines, crafting a grant strategy brief, proposing a recurring giving program, and building a revenue forecast model. Securing a stable, renewable revenue stream is essential to fully fund core operations, cover participant costs, hire key staff, and invest in growth, ensuring more Veterans and First Responders can rediscover purpose and thrive as civilians.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose to come to ESTEEM because I wanted to advance my education after leaving the U.S. Army. ESTEEM stood out amongst traditional MBA programs because it offers to challenge me not only by learning in a classroom, but by actively applying new knowledge in the real world. I have always been passionate about serving others and developed a strong leadership skillset while serving as an Army Aviation Officer. My technical background and leadership soft skills will intersect with the entrepreneurship skills provided by ESTEEM to not only assist me in becoming a positive impact in the private sector but also continue to grow as a global force for good.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

Honestly, I have no idea. I am using ESTEEM to explore options across new and exciting sectors.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love walking my pet husky Missoula, playing basketball, reading a mix of historical, scientific, and theological literature with a little sprinkle of Nicholas Sparks, and bartending at Brother's.
