Capstone Project Abstract

The capstone project will focus on international go to market strategies for Optro as the company continues to expand its global presence. Optro is a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software company that helps enterprises identify, manage, and anticipate risk. The company provides an enterprise grade, AI driven GRC platform that gives organizations a single, coherent view across internal audit, SOX, enterprise risk, cybersecurity, compliance, and AI governance. Optro uses agentic AI to automate high volume tasks, streamline controls testing, and deliver continuous risk insights. Optro helps enterprises transform risk into opportunity by providing continuous, AI powered visibility across the entire GRC landscape enabling faster decisions, stronger assurance, and more resilient operations. Optro focuses on serving customers in financial services, manufacturing, technology, and utilities.

I am excited to contribute to Optro’s international expansion efforts and to examine how agentic AI can help enterprises convert risk management from a defensive function into a source of strategic opportunity. This interest builds on my military experience and supporting a company in the energy sector navigate complex strategic, operational, and cross border challenges in the Middle East. Optro offers an ideal setting to apply my leadership, operational discipline, and decision making experience as a Navy Commander while deepening my understanding of go to market strategy in complex, regulated global markets.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?
I came to the University of Notre Dame to advance my professional goals following a career of service in the U.S. Navy. I built talent pipelines that ensured ships, submarines, aviation squadrons, and special operations units had the right people in the right place at the right time to accomplish the mission. I am applying my experience to help students and professionals discover where their talents are most needed. ESTEEM’s emphasis on fixing things that matter through entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation aligns with this mission.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I want to build a stronger talent ecosystem, one that connects professionals with meaningful opportunities across their careers and strengthens the organizations and communities that depend on them. I will help people and organizations reach their full potential and live out Notre Dame’s call to be a force for good in the world.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love spending time with my family. I enjoy playing and coaching sports, time with friends, and meeting new people. Swimming, paddle boarding, traveling, camping, reading, and playing the trumpet are some of my hobbies.
