Matt DiDonato

Class of 2017-2018

University of Notre Dame, 2017
Mechanical Engineering

Why I chose ESTEEM: I chose to come to ESTEEM because of the opportunity to work with new and emerging technologies and learn how to bring those technologies to market. I have also always been interested in starting a company and this program is the perfect place to learn how to be an entrepreneur while staying in touch with and building on my technical background.

My capstone thesis project and why I’m excited about it: For my thesis project, I will be working with NORDAM in their materials and process engineering group to help them streamline their manufacturing processes by implementing technologies such as additive manufacturing and match die tooling. As mechanical engineering undergrad at Notre Dame, 3D printing had always excited me and the opportunity to work with this emerging technology to help a family owned aerospace manufacturing company is electrifying.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM: I hope to work in consulting for a few years and then eventually start and own my own company.

What I like to do when I’m not working in Innovation Park:
When I am not working in the Greenhouse on various class projects, I participate on the Notre Dame Men's Rowing Team here on campus.
