Class of 2019-2020
University of Notre Dame, 2018
Why I chose ESTEEM:
I came to ESTEEM to learn to use the scientific and analytical skills I learned from my previous education to make a difference in the world. The staff, faculty, and students uniquely emphasize innovation and achievement in the name of the greater good.
My capstone project and why I’m excited about it:
For my capstone project, I am partnering with Animated Language Learning, a company that has developed an innovative technology using Disney and Pixar animation to promote language development in children with autism. It focuses on the conceptual understanding of language, an essential component of social and cognitive functioning. With these skills, these children have the opportunity to live rich and fulfilling lives rather than facing the societal isolation that is too often their norm.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
With the skills and knowledge I gain through ESTEEM, I hope to work as a world-class innovator in the fields of science and technology. My ideal career will involve applying this work to bettering the lives of those who need it most.
What I like to do when I’m not working:
Outside of class, I am an avid fan of Chicago sports and Notre Dame football. I can often be found engrossed in new books or music.
