Why did you choose ESTEEM?
The ESTEEM program is a perfect match because it combines science, engineering, and entrepreneurship, allowing me to leverage my technical expertise. I'm passionate about transitioning from my scientific background to an innovative, entrepreneurial thinking geared towards business. I’m excited about the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and work on real-world projects that will shape the future of technology and innovation. Having just completed my PhD, I am at a critical juncture in my career where I can either continue in academia or pivot towards entrepreneurship and industry. I have chosen the latter because I am passionate about translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions that can make a difference in the world. The ESTEEM program offers the ideal environment to turn my entrepreneurial aspirations into reality, and I’m eager to take on this challenge.
What is your capstone project?
The objective of this project is to create a comprehensive go-to-market strategy on new adsorbent technologies for emerging contaminants in the United States. New implementation technologies will foster a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment, benefiting public health and the broader ecosystem, including drinking water municipalities and everyday citizens.
What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?
After completing ESTEEM, I plan on either joining the consulting industry in Chicago, a city I really love, or staying with Marmon Water to focus on developing and improving products that promote healthier, cleaner drinking water.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I absolutely love staying active! Whether I'm getting a great workout, participating and traveling with club rugby, enjoying the outdoors with friends, or exploring new places through travel, I always try to make the most of my time. In the summer, I have a blast fishing, hitting the golf course, and going for refreshing swims in Lake Michigan.
