Why I chose ESTEEM:

I chose ESTEEM because I was looking for a program that would allow me to integrate my technical skills with business and ESTEEM seemed to be that program. The capstone project component fascinated me, the idea of having hands-on experience on a real world project while in school was something I couldn't afford to ignore.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

For my capstone, I’m working with McDonald’s Data Science + Food Safety team in collaboration with McDonald’s Global Analytics Hub to develop an early warning alert system that is deployed either through a web application, email or text notifications. Including the alert mechanism and a visualization of the issue with the ability to dig into the data for an individual McDonald’s market. I joined the project hoping that my analytical skills would improve tremendously and I am glad they have. I particularly enjoy the coding aspect and using modern AI and machine learning tools to collect, analyze and simulate data.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

Upon graduating from ESTEEM I hope to join a tech space that would give me the opportunity to have a real world experience by merging technology and business while practicing what I have learned in class. Also, I look forward to advancing my Front End development skills to Back End development and hopefully being a certified Fullstack Developer. In every step though, I want to send the elevator down to especially young girls from my community who feel intimidated by STEM careers.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

I take a walk along the lake on campus, visit the Grotto and admire the beautiful places on campus! I like to work out and listen to music. I travel, I have visited 4 continents of 7 in the world and 37 states of the 50 in the US!
