Why I chose ESTEEM:

I have always had one goal in life - to impact the lives of others in the most positive way. However, I have never been able to figure out how exactly I wanted to do this. ESTEEM originally drew my attention because their values aligned with mine; innovation, leadership, and compassion. I chose ESTEEM because it gives me the opportunity to learn how my combination of analytical, leadership, and personal skills can be used to make the specific change I wish to see.

My capstone project and why I am excited about it:

There are millions of households that contain high amounts of lead which could cause irreversible damage to the residents, but many of these homes go unnoticed so the lead problem continues to persist in many communities. Researchers at the University of Notre Dame have developed new technology to make a Lead Sample Collection Kit. This kit provides a proactive solution to the early identification of potential threats and the determination of their severity.

I am excited to raise awareness for lead poisoning and to explore a variety of potential business models for this new technology. The team and I hope to improve the environmental health of communities by reducing the amount and severity of lead poisoning cases. This project provides me with an opportunity to grow my business skills while working towards making a difference that I am passionate about.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

My next step after ESTEEM is to be determined. I am looking forward to exposing myself to various options including work for a consulting firm, a start up company, or non-profit organization. No matter what avenue I choose to pursue, I hope to contribute to the execution of a mission that serves others.

What I like to do when I’m not working:

I always look forward to reading a few pages of my book, calling my mom, exploring South Bend, and simply spending time with friends. Cute adventures and spontaneous dance parties will always make my heart happy.

And, finally:
