Why I chose ESTEEM:

ESTEEM combines science and business, which are two of my passions. I wanted to further my education and continue to make a difference in the world. Here at ESTEEM we fix things that matter, and I want to continue living by that motto.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

I am pursuing my capstone project with two faculty researchers at Notre Dame. They have developed a novel treatment for Mycobacterial tuberculosis (TB). However, many cases of tuberculosis occur in developing countries that do not support high drug costs. Therefore, I am tasked with determining how to develop a low-cost drug for these countries to treat TB. TB is often a forgotten disease, but it claims about 1.7 million lives each year. I want to provide patients with an affordable option, and hopefully end the TB epidemic.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

After ESTEEM, I hope to continue to work in the healthcare sector. This could be in the form of healthcare consulting, healthcare management, global health, or clinical trials. I have a passion for making a difference in patient’s lives. I want to continue to help patients live happy and healthy lives.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

When I am not working, doing homework, or doing research for my capstone project, you can find me hanging out with my friends and family. I also love the outdoors, so hiking, kayaking, and swimming are high on my list of favorite activities. But, on rainy or gloomy days I love binge watching shows on Netflix or watching movies.
