Capstone Project Abstract

This capstone project partners with Monitored Therapeutics, Inc. (MTI), a respiratory technology company focused on expanding access to high-quality pulmonary function testing. Today, comprehensive lung testing is largely concentrated in specialized pulmonary laboratories, creating barriers to earlier diagnosis and broader access to care.

The project explores the market opportunity for a next-generation, decentralized pulmonary diagnostic platform that could bring multiple measures of lung function closer to patients in primary care and community settings. Over ten months, the work will engage key stakeholders, size the market opportunity, assess competitive and reimbursement dynamics, and develop a commercialization strategy. The goal is to determine the clinical and economic value of this approach and define a path toward successful market adoption.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM to help me build skills in technology, engineering, and entrepreneurship on top of my STEM/Pre-Med background to help me achieve my future goals in the healthcare field. I love ESTEEM's unique approach to business from a scientific mindset, while placing emphasis on remaining "a force for good". This is exactly the kind of perspective I want to bring to solving problems in American healthcare.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I am currently applying to medical school, but it's not the only path I am looking at for my future career. I have a passion for improving patient access to high-quality, whole-person healthcare, so I want to use the skills learned from ESTEEM to make a lasting impact in the healthcare field, whether I decide to work in the industry/technology sector or as a clinician.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I like to lift weights, play piano or guitar, and get outside to play whatever sport I can find! I also love to cook and host game nights for friends.
