Why I chose ESTEEM: The spirit and energy! Everyone's bright attitude from ESTEEM folks to previous students to overarching views.

My capstone thesis project and why I’m excited about it: DermaDiagnostics: Point of care detection platform for sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) and gynecologic cancers diagnosis. I'm excited about the thesis because it's a unique balance of technology with impact!

What I hope to do after ESTEEM: Continue pursuing an education either in the form of a PhD or an MD/PhD and launch a start-up when all of the variables align! The goal throughout the rest of my life would be to channel both knowledge and economic opportunities to areas of the Caribbean and Latin America.

What I like to do when I’m not working in Innovation Park: Can be found swimming or doing yoga - anything that reminds me of the hot tropics of Cuba, where I grew up!

Adds Eydis: "I consider myself a visionary vanguard: seeing and creating unforeseen opportunities."
