Capstone Project Abstract:

This capstone project, completed in partnership with Chicago-based private equity firm Pfingsten Partners, focuses on strategic market expansion for one of their portfolio companies. The portfolio company specializes in full lifecycle management of network equipment, offering services such as multi-vendor sourcing, refurbishment, repair, technical support, professional services and logistics management. The project aims to identify adjacent markets where the company’s core capabilities can be effectively applied to address operational challenges across new industries. Through market research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews, the project will assess strategic alignment, market potential, and entry feasibility. The goal is to deliver a set of prioritized market opportunities with recommendations on which services to offer or adapt, showing how the company can leverage its existing infrastructure and technical expertise to drive sustainable growth.

Why do yo choose ESTEEM?

With a background in Economics and Finance, I’ve always enjoyed the quantitative and technical side of my studies, but I found myself wanting more hands-on, entrepreneurial experience. ESTEEM felt like a natural next step, building on what I learned during undergrad while exposing me to entirely new ways of thinking. It offers hands-on experience and provides a deeper, practical understanding of how startups actually operate. What excites me most is the chance to collaborate with people who are serious about solving real problems and building things with purpose.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I want to apply the analytical skill set and data-driven problem-solving abilities I developed during my undergraduate studies to fast-moving industries where innovation can drive real change. I’m particularly interested in areas such as fintech, health tech, and venture capital, industries where innovation is reshaping how we live, work, and access essential services. Long term, I hope to help grow and invest in meaningful businesses by combining technology, strategy, and capital to solve important problems.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I grew up playing Gaelic football, and it was a big part of my life back in Ireland. When I get the chance to slow down, I enjoy unwinding with a good book. I’m also really into music, and at the expense of my family's eardrums, I’ve enthusiastically battled with a wide range of instruments over the years.
