Since graduating from the ESTEEM program, I have worked for a small marketing technology consultancy, Covalent Marketing, in Denver, CO. We focus on making marketing smarter, whether that be through the latest and greatest technology, enhancing and optimizing current technology, or by improving marketing processes. Although Covalent has been in operation for over 10 years and is not technically in “startup mode,” I still feel that attitude permeating through. We have a wide range of responsibilities – consulting with clients, selling new work, developing assets that the company can use going forward, and learning! My experiences in ESTEEM, especially the Capstone Thesis, allowed me to apply real-world business concepts to my health science background. Rather than being black and white like many academic courses, the Capstone Thesis provided the opportunity to get creative with the application of the deep knowledge we acquired over the course of the year. This experience was very significant moving forward into job opportunities and life outside ESTEEM. Aside from work, there’s a good chance I’ll be found in the mountains getting some fresh air (or fresh snow)!
