Capstone Project Abstract

This capstone project is with Flagship Management, a technology-enabled field service company that manages the full lifecycle of medical and rehabilitation equipment for physical therapy and rehab clinics nationwide, and investigates whether a defensible go-to-market path exists for the company's IRC (Immediate Resolution Center), a diagnostic concept designed to identify an equipment fault before a technician is ever dispatched, turning a slow, multi-visit repair process into a single trip.

Specifically, the project seeks to determine the market need for a solution like this and determine the proper beachhead market for this solution. Over the fall semester, the student will run primary-source discovery interviews with key stakeholders across the Outpatient Rehab and OEM segments to identify behavioral evidence of urgency, not polite interest, in a continuously audited evidence log.

Depending on what that evidence shows, the project either builds toward a validated beachhead and go-to-market strategy in the spring or delivers a rigorously documented negative finding, triggering a pivot to Flagship's OEM segment. The engagement tests the customer hypothesis behind the IRC.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM to complement the technical skills I built during my undergraduate degree with a structured entrepreneurial environment that puts those skills to the test in real-world conditions. I've always learned best through doing, and I wanted a programme built around taking responsibility for outcomes alongside others who are doing the same. ESTEEM offers the applied, project-driven experience that lets me develop the judgement and leadership needed to lead innovation and turn ideas into impact.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, I want to build a career in early-stage tech, ideally joining a startup team where I can apply both my technical background and the leadership and business skills I develop in the programme. Longer term, I'd like to be in a position to lead my own venture, but I see real value in first learning what it takes to build something from the ground up alongside people who've done it before.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to play Golf and Gaelic Football, play piano, and reading and cooking.
