Capstone Project Abstract:

Wight & Company is an integrated architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firm. The capstone project aims to quantify the value of their "design-led" integrated project delivery model, which they believe addresses issues like poor communication and missing information that contribute to the $250 billion spent annually on construction rework. The company's goal is to improve this model by developing a way to quantify its value for clients early in the project lifecycle. The project will involve conducting interviews, identifying opportunities for technology and process innovation, developing measurable data outputs, and creating predictive analytics and financial modeling tools. This work is intended to help the company's clients commit to an uncompromised scope from the beginning of their project.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I came to ESTEEM to merge my scientific background with entrepreneurial action. As a Biological Sciences major with research experience and a strong interest in innovation, I was drawn to ESTEEM’s hands-on, interdisciplinary approach. I wanted to learn how to take cutting-edge ideas especially in technology and bring them to market in ways that make a tangible impact. ESTEEM offers the ideal environment to develop the business acumen, leadership skills, and real-world experience I need to help translate science into solutions. Ultimately, I see ESTEEM as the launchpad for building something meaningful and mission-driven, whether through a startup or by helping others bring ideas to life.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

I hope to work at the intersection of science, technology, and entrepreneurship either by launching a startup or contributing to a fast-paced, mission-driven company. Long term, I want to build or lead ventures that solve real-world problems at scale and deliver high-impact solutions that matter.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love playing and watching soccer, performing calisthenics, and creating short films. I also really enjoy finding ways to make people laugh, whether it’s through spontaneous jokes or little moments of creativity.
