Capstone Project Abstract

Aurelius Technologies is a company that builds the infrastructure behind trust. Aurelius connects the dots between people, businesses, and the world they operate in, so that when an organization needs to know who or what it is really dealing with, the answer is a few seconds away instead of months of guesswork. Businesses, governments, and financial institutions rely on that infrastructure to make faster, more confident decisions, and as more of those decisions get handed to AI systems, the need for reliable, connected information like this is only going to grow. Aurelius is positioning itself to be part of that shift, building the kind of information backbone that trust decisions, human or AI-driven, will increasingly depend on.

The student is developing a method to bring that infrastructure to KYC and identity verification companies across Latin America and beyond, through comprehensive analysis of KYC gaps and data ingestion, starting with Brazil and Mexico. These are the companies banks rely on to confirm who their customers really are, and in much of the region, the information they need is difficult to access. That gap makes it easier for criminals to open fake accounts or move stolen money, and it also means honest customers sometimes get turned away because a bank cannot confirm who they are. Brazil recorded roughly 520,000 reported cases of banking fraud in 2024 alone, totaling more than R$10.1 billion (about $1.9 billion USD) in losses, and better identity data is one of the clearest ways to bring that number down while also helping more of the honest customers who get turned away today.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose Notre Dame first because it matched who I am and what I care about. ESTEEM is where I found a way to actually put that into practice. I have always been drawn to technology and innovation, and an applied program like this puts me in the right environment to grow those ideas and connect with companies already building around them, whether that means helping them grow or eventually starting something of my own. What matters most to me is being part of a small group of people all working toward something similar, the kind who push me to grow and who I can build alongside.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, I want to work in go-to-market or operations for a company, setting the strategy behind its growth and thinking about where it can expand next. I want to be part of deciding how a company reaches more people, and then actually doing the work to reach them, wherever that impact is biggest. I also want to be around people I can learn from, the kind who challenge how I think and push me to get better. Down the line, I want to use that experience to build a company of my own.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to run, hit the gym, and play soccer and volleyball. I also enjoy reading and playing guitar with my family and friends.
