Why I chose ESTEEM:
I wanted to gain new perspectives on Entrepreneurship -- every entrepreneur has a unique mentality and approach to starting and running business based on their experience and skill set. Being able to learn from founders and their humbling experiences - while trying it myself throughout the year - in an environment that encourages both personal and professional growth is an opportunity I couldn't let pass!
My capstone project and why I am excited about it:
My capstone project is with Medtronic on assessing and developing a go-to-market strategy for the Rechargeable Micra Pacemaker. Having worked on Micra as an Engineer previously, I'm particularly excited to see a completely different side of the product commercialization process by being more involved in the business strategy and upstream marketing. The reduced burden and improved patient outcome that making the device rechargeable could offer to the patient and doctor is incredibly motivating and I look forward to contributing to the project! Particularly, I'll be assessing different creative business models for bringing this new form of patient care to the market in a sustainable way, helping with decisions from where the charging should take place, what the process will look like, and how Medtronic will profit.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
After ESTEEM, I hope to be working on the commercialization and strategy to bringing emerging technologies to market - whether that be in a corporation or start up!
What I like to do when I’m not working:
When I'm not working, I like to do home-improvement projects on my new house and hang out on my front porch!
