Why I chose ESTEEM:
I chose ESTEEM because my mission aligned with the foundation and mission of ESTEEM. I have always wanted to make a difference for other people and truly make an impact, and the foundation that is built for me at Notre Dame and through ESTEEM will allow me to be a powerful force for good in the world.
In addition to this, the ESTEEM curriculum was exactly what I desired: the ability to explore my technical interests while also gaining new skills in business. The range of interest among the faculty is remarkable, and I believe the exposure to such a panel of expertise will greatly enhance my perspective for refining and contributing my own blend of abilities.
My capstone project and why I’m excited about it:
My capstone project is with McDonald's, where I will focus on developing an architecture that further automates the existing text analytics and natural language processing workflows while identifying areas of improvement in both the backend ML functions and the front-end insights communicated to the business.
I am excited about this project because it is a great opportunity for me to grow and develop not only my technical skills but also my business skills. Having the chance to do this for the world's largest restaurant chain by revenue is also something that really excites me! I believe that while McDonald's is such a large company, I can still have a large impact, particularly within the data science and business intelligence teams.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
After ESTEEM I hope to land some sort of consulting or data science position or look to further develop some of my own ideas and side projects that I cultivate throughout the course of the year. However, I am open to just about anything, as I believe there are so many wonderful opportunities that will come out of ESTEEM.
What I like to do when I’m not working:
When I'm not working, I love to run, and hang out with friends and family!
