Biomedical Engineering and Business Management

Why I chose ESTEEM:

I have always had a keen interest in the business space, and I thought ESTEEM would be the perfect way for me to couple my engineering background and interest in healthcare with my desire to be on the business side of things. I knew it would be the best place for me to launch my career, and be surrounded by amazing classmates and program staff who want nothing but the best for their students.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

For my capstone project, I will be working with Medtronic on their Deep Brain Stimulation Project. I will be collecting brain signal data and clinical trial outcome data and use this to improve patient outcomes for those in need of DBS therapies. Since high school, I've been interested in concussions, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgery, and I am so excited to work for an amazing company like Medtronic!

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

After ESTEEM, I hope to work in industry for a few years. I would love to work at the intersection of healthcare and business technology, and am interested in exploring the consulting space as well. Project management, product development, and hospital administration are all fields I am interested in and I hope this next year and my capstone experience will help give me more clarity about what I want to do moving forward.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

In my free time, I love to hit the gym and play some basketball. I'm a big sports fan so I'll never pass up an opportunity to be outside or playing really anything with some friends! Innovation Park also has a nice ping-pong table so you'll find me there pretty frequently.
