Class of 2022-2023

Providence College, 2022
Chemistry Major

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM to marry my passions for science and business. As a chemistry major and business and innovation minor during undergrad, I felt there was a lack of opportunity to combine these interests effectively. ESTEEM takes advantage of technical expertise, and uniquely develops the entrepreneurial spirit, in addition to providing the opportunity to gain relevant experience through a competitive capstone project.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Scientist.com is the world’s largest AI-powered marketplace for outsourced medical research & development (R&D), connecting scientists and suppliers more efficiently. Their technology streamlines the R&D procurement process, decreasing both time and cost for most of the top pharmaceutical companies. This project is focused on entering a new revenue stream that will expand its services platform and product hub to academic research facilities.

To date, the customer base has been restricted to large pharma and biotech companies. By entering an untested market space and placing more focus on the product hub, Scientist.com can successfully make inroads to the first academics. In doing so, they will position themselves as not only the leader in the outsourced medical research space, but also at the university level.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, I hope to pursue a role at the intersection of science and innovative problem-solving. My desire to create meaningful change in the world of science and medicine motivates me to find new ways to face challenges within the healthcare industry.

What do you do in your free time?

After spending my time as a dancer for Providence College’s Division I Dance Team, I have developed a strong enthusiasm for watching college basketball, in addition to other college sports. During free time in South Bend, I’m likely catching up with my parents or sisters, to the extent that distance doesn’t affect us. I also love to explore new ways to stay active, hang out with friends, and cook new recipes!
