Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM because I am motivated to leverage entrepreneurship and business acumen to drive transformative change in healthcare innovation. By merging my biomedical engineering background with entrepreneurial skills, I aspired to catalyze the development and adoption of groundbreaking medical technologies, ultimately revolutionizing the healthcare industry for the better.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Nymbl Systems, a dynamic and innovative player in the Home Medical Equipment (HME) sector, is embarking on a project that promises to reshape its growth trajectory. They have developed an industry-leading Electronic Medical Records/Practice Management (EMR/PM) platform, designed to expedite billing processes for healthcare providers. With a remarkable team of 30 members and further expansion plans, Nymbl is poised for significant advancement. This capstone project revolves around two pivotal objectives. First, Nymbl intends to strategically expand the reach of their EMR/PM platform into new markets, a task demanding acute market understanding and regulatory acumen. Secondly, they aim to unearth fresh revenue streams within their existing customer base, enhancing their monetization strategies. Furthermore, the project explores the potential for diversification into the fintech sector, capitalizing on their core system's capabilities. Navigating these opportunities is intricate and multifaceted. Success hinges on pinpointing optimal markets for expansion, identifying avenues to bolster current customer revenue, and assessing the feasibility of venturing into fintech. Through comprehensive market analysis, regulatory scrutiny, a meticulous feasibility study, and stakeholder and customer interviews, Nymbl Systems aims to solidify its position as an innovative force in healthcare technology, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the HME industry.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After completing the ESTEEM program, my aspiration is to embark on a journey to develop the next groundbreaking health tech solution, with a specific focus on addressing healthcare challenges among children in Africa. Building on my experience in developing the low-field MRI scanner at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, I envision creating innovative, accessible, and child-centric healthcare technologies that can significantly improve diagnostic and treatment options for pediatric patients in resource-constrained settings across the continent.
