Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I came to ESTEEM to build on my passions for exploration, innovation, and entrepreneurship. My academic and professional backgrounds are heavily rooted in STEM studies and clinical research. Through ESTEEM, I hoped to gain the tools necessary to connect my scientific skills with newfound competencies in business and entrepreneurship. By doing this, I aim to help bridge the unsustainable gap between science and business, to create better solutions for tomorrow's world.

What's your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Zimmer Biomet has been a driving force in the rapidly growing musculoskeletal healthcare industry and remains one of the most influential medical implant companies globally. Recently, Zimmer Biomet introduced the first and only smart knee implant to the medical device market. This innovative technology has revolutionized orthopedics and created a competitive new market for implant technology.

This capstone project will focus on integrating similar smart technology in the shoulder replacement system to provide updated solutions for patients and health care providers. The student will be working to create a commercialization plan for Zimmer Biomet’s smart shoulder implant and aid in the development of a go-to-market strategy. The student will provide insights into what the implant should be used to detect post-operatively, detailed customer segmentation for sales advice of product and data services, and a competitive market analysis of current and potential competitors in the smart implant market.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, I am planning on finding a position that allows me to exercise my love for science, business strategy, healthcare, and people. I am very interested in the fields of healthcare technology, medical device/technology, and product design. In my next role, and all roles thereafter, I plan on always being a powerful force of good in the world and integrating ingenuity and thoughtfulness in all that I do.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy running, reading, traveling, being outdoors, and volunteering.
