I chose ESTEEM because it offers the ideal platform to integrate my background as a biologist and my experience in journalism, with my entrepreneurial aspirations.
What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?
Paper Analytics is a pioneering company, founded by Dr. Lieberman, specializing in the creation of paper microfluidic labware, providing a cost-effective and safe alternative to traditional laboratory equipment. Established in 2021, Paper Analytics LLC introduced a groundbreaking range of affordable paper microfluidic labware, including the remarkable $0.05 paper titrator, engineered for both educational and humanitarian applications. The primary objective of the Paper Analytics capstone project is to provide practical laboratory experiences to underfunded high schools, colleges, and correctional institutions. This initiative is designed to effectively tackle budget constraints and safety concerns.
What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?
After ESTEEM, my goal is to develop a biotechnology incubator in Ethiopia that guides Ethiopian scientists to commercialize their research findings.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I am not working, you will find me gleefully embracing new activities and exploring new places. I'm an adventure-seeking enthusiast on a mission to uncover the most obscure hobbies on the planet. But when I'm not knee-deep in exciting escapades, I transform into a total bookworm—a book fanatic, to be precise!
