Why I chose ESTEEM ?

ESTEEM is a program which, among many other things fosters a culture of innovation and technology entrepreneurship . This fits perfectly with my passion for healthcare innovation.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it ?

My capstone project is with Amicus Therapeutics and we are exploring the opportunity for gene therapy for a rare genetic disease. There is a great unmet need around this disease, with no cure in existence currently. I am really excited about this project because it aligns with one of my goals, which is to bring innovation to healthcare through technology, and also it gives me an opportunity to potentially change the lives of patients living with this debilitating disease. I hope to develop my healthcare research and consultancy skills as I navigate the world of market research, analysis and business development.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM ?

As a physician, my primary passion is service to patients. After ESTEEM, I hope to continue doing that, whether in a hospital as a physician or in healthcare/medical research. I also hope to use the entrepreneurial skills I gain from this program to bring innovation to healthcare in my home country, Zimbabwe.

What I like to do when I'm not working ?

I'm a foodie, so I like trying new food places in South Bend as well as hanging out with friends and making new networks/connections. I also enjoy a good round of golf and most importantly, family time.
