Author: Notre Dame ESTEEM

The Main Building, University of Notre Dame

Leadership with a passion for entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame are traveling to Poland from May 21st to June 4rd and want to connect with Polish academics, innovators, startup enthusiasts, students and technology leaders to explore collaboration opportunities with our entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The University of Notre Dame is a private, independent Catholic research university consistently ranked in the top 15-20 top universities in the United States and regularly noted as the top Catholic university in the U.S. The ESTEEM Graduate Program is an 11-month Master of Science program that begins in June and runs through May. Throughout the program, students are immersed in entrepreneurship and lead commercialization projects for emerging technologies. ESTEEM students experience out-of-the-classroom learning with a hands-on Capstone project and field trips to innovation hubs like Chicago and Silicon Valley. In 2023/24, the ESTEEM Graduate Program has been ranked by the Princeton Review as the #18 top graduate school in the United States for Entrepreneurship.

David Murphy and Jarek Nabrzyski will be amongst the contingent traveling to Poland. David Murphy serves as the Assistant Provost and Executive Director of the ESTEEM Graduate program. David served as co-founder, President and CEO of Better World Books, a for-profit organization which has raised over $35M and donated more than 35M books for literacy and education, as well as reusing/recycling nearly 500M books and keeping them out of landfills. Jarek is the Founding Director of the Center for Research Computing at the University of Notre Dame and a concurrent professor of Computer Science and Engineering. As a computer scientist, faculty member, and serial entrepreneur who has founded eight diverse companies, Jarek illustrates the permeable boundaries between disciplines and industries.
