Why I chose ESTEEM:

Choosing ESTEEM was an easy decision for me because I have always desired to work with and learn from smart, creative, and diverse individuals who want to see others grow both personally and professionally! After speaking with a few students from previous ESTEEM classes, I was blown away by each of the student’s drive, intelligence, and tenacity. I knew I wanted to be surrounded by individuals like that, so ESTEEM was an easy choice!

My capstone thesis project and why I'm excited about it:

During the next year in the ESTEEM program, I will be working with SRAM, a bicycle component manufacturer, in creating their newest venture, Z-Bike. Z-Bike is seeking to bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor cycling enthusiasts by creating an indoor smart bike that better simulates the outdoor riding experience for the rider. I am ecstatic to be teaming up with SRAM because I am an avid cyclist myself! Cycling became a passion of mine during my undergraduate career, and I love the uplifting community it has given me. Since my background is in Industrial Engineering, I jumped at the opportunity to work with a company where I could combine my passions for cycling, innovating, and creating!

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

The great thing about ESTEEM is that the outstanding faculty guides you in discovering what you are good at doing and combining it with something you are passionate about in your professional career. After ESTEEM, I would love to work in the health and wellness community where I could create products that could add value to someone’s everyday life. Outside of the health and wellness community, I also have a desire to help others do great things and reach their goals! So in my future career, I have a high interest in project management, business consultation, and product/business development as well.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

I'm definitely a fitness enthusiast so when I am not working; I love any and all activities that can get me moving. Spin classes are my favorite, but I also like a good HIIT workout or run outside! When I’m not running around, I enjoy writing and creating on my blog, whitandwit.com. On my little piece of the internet, I like to discuss all the things young professionals wish our high school and undergraduate classes would have taught us like budgeting, writing resumes, and what business casual really means.
