Capstone Project Abstract

This capstone project focuses on exploring the opportunity to develop a unified, AI-enabled platform for workforce-development nonprofits, using Pawsperity as the pilot organization. Right now, Pawsperity uses multiple disconnected systems to manage student learning, case management, attendance, compliance, and program outcomes, creating extra work and making it difficult to access information in one place. The goal of this project is to determine whether a single platform could improve efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and better support both staff and students. To do this, the student will interview stakeholders across the organization, observe current workflows, and evaluate how existing systems are being used. The project will also explore whether other workforce-development nonprofits face similar challenges, helping determine if the solution could be expanded into a scalable platform for organizations with similar needs.

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

The only way I can explain why I came to ESTEEM is through the Holy Spirit guiding me here. I had the option to play another year of Division 1 lacrosse, but God called me to be here and learn what I had to from here. Since my end goal is cancer research, and I don't want to get my MD, I'm thinking the business side is where I am meant to end up. ND is a great school with great connections as well, but truly I am here only through the Spirit. God called me to come, I trusted in Him, and now I am here!

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM, the end goal is cancer research in some facet. I want to help change the world and help the people living in it, especially the ones with major health problems including cancer. Right now, I think that might be looking like joining a biotech company or creating my own biotechnology specifically in cancer detection or treatment.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I LOVE to travel. I especially enjoy going to different national parks and going hiking, camping, and you name it! I love just being outdoors and getting to experience new things. When I'm not traveling, I enjoy working out, going for runs, reading, and making new crafts to give to my family and friends.
