Class of 2019-2020
Saint Louis University, 2019
Why I chose ESTEEM:
ESTEEM slipped into my life through my undergraduate department head and faculty mentor. The experiential learning aspect of ESTEEM piqued my interest, setting it apart from the tales of the glories of seeking a PhD in theoretical physics.
My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:
I am conducting my capstone project with mobius, a sustainability startup that produces lignin-based, biodegradable polymers. Investigation of industrial organic waste streams and their potential application in the realm of fertilizers will be my focus. The opportunity to work toward building a circular economy thrills me.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
My passions pull me to advocacy and connected action. At-risk populations, especially youth and those experiencing homelessness, and the beauty of the planet tug at my heart. I dream of working in spaces that allow for radical restructuring of society to promote justice.
What I like to do when I'm not working:
I am often lost in forests, among dusty shelves, on mountainsides, or in music. Discovering new places and sharing adventures with friends fill my soul. Smiles accompany miles rolling under my feet.
