University College Dubin
Cell and Molecular Biology

Why did you choose ESTEEM?

I chose ESTEEM because it perfectly aligns with my academic background and personal interests. Having a foundation in cell and molecular biology and data analytics from my undergrad, going forward I knew I loved science and innovation, but preferred not to work in a laboratory setting. I started my own business during undergrad, and the experience was incredibly rewarding and inspired me to learn more about business. ESTEEM was the perfect program to help me develop my business skills while still staying firmly rooted in my passion for science. The program's emphasis on entrepreneurship provides a dynamic learning environment where I can collaborate with like-minded individuals and learn from experienced mentors.

What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?

Vital View Technologies (VVT) is a Notre Dame spin-out focused on commercializing technology discovered by Dr. Tom Pratt’s Lab. This capstone project is centered around identifying potential applications for VVT’s proprietary sensor technology in industrial sectors. It will allow potential customers to gain new insights on their hardware and processes, saving time and money. The student will be leading this project and identifying market opportunities where this technology makes the most impact, then developing a go-to-market strategy.

What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?

After ESTEEM I hope to continue to work in the life sciences Industry, whether that is in an investing, consulting or start-up role. I have a real passion and interest in life sciences, specifically in cancer therapeutics and genomics, so I would love to work anywhere I can apply that passion to in a business setting.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I love playing sports, and I am a member of the Notre Dame Gaelic Football club and the ESTEEM run club.
