Class of 2019-2020
University of Notre Dame, 2019
Why I chose ESTEEM:
During my undergraduate studies as a Science-Business major at Notre Dame, I learned about the numerous ways medicine, healthcare, and technology are inextricably linked with business. There is a huge demand for professionals with both scientific and business backgrounds who can devise solutions to issues facing our healthcare system and commercialize the transformative technologies developed in researchers’ labs. Through ESTEEM, I will enhance my technical and business skills to pursue my passion for healthcare innovation.
My capstone project and why I’m excited about it:
This year, I am working with a research group to help develop their novel endometriosis diagnostic test. It is a privilege to work alongside such renowned researchers and business developers on a project that will transform the way endometriosis is understood and diagnosed. I’m excited to help bring to market a product that will play a role in improving the lives of patients affected by this disease.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
After ESTEEM, I hope to continue to explore my interest in business and medicine either by attending medical school, pursuing consulting, or becoming part of a healthcare startup company.
What I like to do when I’m not working:
When I’m not at Innovation Park working on group projects or studying, I enjoy exploring the South Bend area, attending Notre Dame sporting events, and hanging out with fellow ESTEEMers. We have an extremely athletic class and frequently play pick-up basketball, sand volleyball, tennis, and soccer. My favorite new sport, that I’m learning from my Irish classmates, is hurling!
