Why I chose ESTEEM:

I had a strong interest in physical science, particularly chemistry, but wanted a more tangible feel on the science I was conducting. ESTEEM is the perfect match to fit that desire. Now, I am gaining the skills and tools I need to study science and business together and seeing how the two intertwine in the real world.

My capstone project and why I am excited about it:

My capstone project is working with Otter Therapies to launch an all-encompassing platform for care-givers of children with special needs in order to coordinate care more efficiently. This will include scheduling abilities, data keeping, file sharing, and messaging between family members, doctors, therapists, etc. By finding a solution to a chaotic care system, Otter will be improving the care and development of these children while making their caregivers lives a little easier.

Through this project, I hope to learn more about healthcare, mobile health. I do not have a background in computer science, so I am excited to learn a lot about the creation of this digital platform.

I believe that Otter is a unique startup as it was started by ESTEEM students who graduated in May 2019. Working with former ESTEEMERs who were in my shoes less than a year ago will be extremely helpful for the capstone project deliverables. Seeing how passionate the Otter team members are is inspiring.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

After ESTEEM I hope to continue learning more about science in health care in combination with business. I am currently keeping my options open but looking into consulting or healthcare and pharmaceutical companies.

What I like to do when I’m not working:

When I'm not working I like to spend time with my friends, ride my bike, cook fun meals, and investigate different restaurants around town. I love to travel and see new places. I love watching football games and you will definitely see me at every Notre Dame home game.
