Class of 2019-2020
Indiana University, 2017
Why I chose ESTEEM:
After working in the pharmaceutical industry after undergrad, I realized that a career at the lab bench wasn't for me. I realized that I valued collaboration and innovation in the workplace from my experience volunteering for committees outside of my normal laboratory duties. ESTEEM combines my passion for biology with my desire to switch to a more business focused role.
My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:
My capstone project is with Lumen Bio, a Notre Dame startup company that seeks to use their patented technology to prevent obesity in household pets. This year, we will work on de-risking the tech and researching the pet food industry. This project spoke to me because it utilizes my background in biology and lets me explore a new area industry.
What I hope to do after ESTEEM:
I hope to support science focused industries by acting as a "translator" between the very different worlds of business and science.
What I like to do when I'm not working:
I love to rock climb and to travel! Thankfully, these two passions overlap and I've been fortunate to travel the country to different climbing areas!
