Why did you choose ESTEEM?
I chose ESTEEM because I can utilize all the skills I gained in my interdisciplinary undergraduate studies. ESTEEM is the only program that provided me the opportunity to learn more about the business world and still utilize and increase my technical knowledge to its fullest potential. It allowed me this rare opportunity to learn skills and immediately apply them in real world scenarios with real world companies.
What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?
Lenovo, a pioneer in computer electronics, is partnering with Varjo, a specialist in mixed and virtual reality solutions, for an innovative Capstone Project. The objective is to revolutionize the design review process for engineers using extended reality (XR) technology. This project involves extensive research into XR, prototyping, rigorous testing, cost-performance analysis, and market research. Their goal is to create a seamless XR solution that empowers engineers to communicate and visualize design changes rapidly and effectively. The aim for this project is for engineers to experience a more efficient design review process, resulting in quicker decision-making and product development. This project’s target is for collaboration to improve, enabling dispersed teams to work together seamlessly, fostering innovation. By working on this endeavor Lenovo is reaffirming its commitment to innovation and mission to provide cutting-edge solutions for engineers, consumers, and businesses. By harnessing XR, Lenovo seeks to redefine design communication and visualization, setting new industry standards for efficiency and collaboration.
What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?
After ESTEEM, I hope to acquire a job within the tech industry. I would like to pursue work in computer electronics and work in the US with people with a plethora of disciplines.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I am not working I love to catch up on technological news and new consumer products within tech. I also love watching Formula 1 races because of the high performance from the machines and the drivers who race the vehicles. Additionally, I like to go back to my home country of Nicaragua to visit family.
