Why did you choose ESTEEM?
I chose ESTEEM because, while working at an amazing financial tech startup, I witnessed the impact a small group of talented, driven individuals could have in shaping an industry. This inspired me to set myself more ambitious career goals beyond just being an engineer, so when I read about ESTEEM I knew it was the first step in my journey.
What is your Capstone Project and why are you excited about it?
Hurricane Capital is a Hedge Fund Platform based in New York City; they are to hedge funds what Shopify is to e-commerce. Hurricane Capital empowers smaller hedge funds by providing resources that are typically found at larger firms, thus lowering costs and increasing the chances of receiving an allocation by raising their profile on the Platform. This capstone project aims at helping Hurricane Capital define and develop an MVP that will help portfolio managers mitigate their portfolios’ risk. This is a highly-requested feature and will be incredibly valuable to Hurricane Capital’s clients.
What do you hope to do after ESTEEM?
After ESTEEM, I want to help democratize economic opportunity for the communities who need it the most, through innovative business and tech solutions. Entrepreneurship can be a powerful force for good.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I am not working I enjoy counting 1, 2, 3 …. 5, 6, 7. In other words, I love dancing salsa! Fortunately, I’ve found places to share my love of dancing both in South Bend and at Notre Dame, and I try to go every chance I get. It’s also a great way to meet amazing people.
