Why I chose ESTEEM:

I didn't think I would pursue a graduate program after my undergraduate studies. I was set on going into industry and growing my career after that. However, conversations with an ESTEEM student and the staff allowed me to see how my goals intersected with ESTEEM's mission and made me see myself in the program. The deciding factor for me was the capstone project. The opportunity to be in a graduate program where I didn't just take classes but worked on real-world projects sold me on not only doing a graduate program but doing it at ESTEEM.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

My capstone project is "Artificially-Intelligent Directed Energy Systems for Countering Swarms and Raids: Bringing speed-of-electronics “thinking” to speed-of-light defenses to aid the human operator" with Booz Allen Hamilton. This project presents a unique opportunity to learn about the intersection of two state-of-the technologies, artificial intelligence and directed energy systems (eg: laser weapons) Having worked as machine learning engineer, I'm excited to learn more about other ways machine learning can be implemented.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

After ESTEEM, I hope to be in the machine learning ecosystem. I don't know how that would look right now, whether it might be in a large corporation, start-up or in my own venture.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

I love dancing and have been in a dance group since I was a kid. I also curate playlists and have a playlist for every mood, occasion, life event, time of day, you name it. I also watch a lot of animated movies. I have seen every Pixar and Disney animated film and other films.
