Chemical Engineering

Why I chose ESTEEM:

I chose ESTEEM because I desired to take my STEM background and the technical skills acquired through my undergraduate chemical engineering experience and learn how to ask “Why?” and see the bigger picture. ESTEEM’s curriculum and my capstone project will allow me to develop my design and data visualization skills, business acumen, and encourage me to establish an entrepreneurial mindset that I will put to use in all future endeavors.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

I am working with Coast Southwest, Inc. to commercialize a full line of industrial lubricant additives. I am very excited for this experience, since it will allow me to utilize my chemical engineering background, but also is based in understanding the end-user and is focused around business principles such as increasing value-add in the supply chain and capitalizing on the growing opportunity in the industrial lubricants market.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

I love thinking creatively and analytically to solve complex problems. This is why ESTEEM’s mission of “fixing things that matter” really resonated with me! Therefore, I hope to serve as a Consultant in order to collaborate with others in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

When I am not working, I enjoy taking walks around ND’s campus, volunteering, trying South Bend restaurants with friends, and listening to podcasts!
