Loyola Marymount University, 2020
Mechanical Engineering

Why I chose ESTEEM:

I never thought I would be pursuing my MS but from the moment I learned about ESTEEM from last year’s class, I knew it was for me. I have never wanted to be a traditional, number crunching engineer. I have always felt a desire to work on projects that drive real impact and effect the people around me. I felt just an engineering degree wasn’t enough for me to do that. ESTEEM combines the engineering and business worlds and teaches me how to be successful and impactful in their overlap.

My capstone project and why I'm excited about it:

This year I am working with General Electric to explore commercialization models for video analytics technology. From self driving cars to intelligent crowd surveillance, there are so many applications for this technology and I’m excited to dive into them all. I am looking forward to creating a business plan for technology that I will one day see everyday in our daily lives.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM:

After ESTEEM I am hoping to go into the consulting or product development fields. I want to find a career where I can best utilize both my technical engineering skills and newly acquired business acumen to work on projects that will actually make someone’s life easier.

What I like to do when I'm not working:

In rare times when I am not working, I try to take my mind off of school and just relax. I enjoy staying active by running, working out or playing basketball. If I am not outside moving around, I am probably taking a trip to Verdansk with the boys.
