Alumni Spotlight: Aaron Molloy, ESTEEM Class of 2017
The ESTEEM Graduate Program proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of one of its distinguished alumni, Aaron Molloy, M.S., from the ESTEEM Class of 2017. Aaron’s recent launch of his own venture, Re:Force, shows his dedication to making a positive impact by being a force for good in his community.
Before beginning this venture, Aaron built a solid foundation for his career as an entrepreneur and consultant. He graduated from the University of Galway with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, before continuing his education at the University of Notre Dame where he received a Master of Science in Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship through the ESTEEM Graduate Program (esteem@nd.edu). Upon graduating Aaron spent over five years working at McKinsey & Company, one of the world’s premier consulting firms, in Boston where he first recognized the staffing challenges faced by frontline workers, particularly in healthcare.
Reflecting on his time in the ESTEEM program, Aaron says that “ESTEEM provided me with the mindset to get out of the building in order to understand your stakeholders.” Taking this idea to the next level, Aaron unknowingly became a stakeholder when he left McKinsey and became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Through his experience on the frontlines, Aaron conceived the idea for Re:Force —a venture aimed at empowering others to make a difference in addressing the frontline staffing crises.
“Re:Force works with frontline organizations in partnership with state and local governments to identify crucial roles that are unfilled, require minimal training, and can accommodate flexible schedules—think EMTs and substitute teachers. We’re bringing an entirely new cohort of individuals into service, filling these essential frontline roles. Re:Force is a new model for balancing work, service, and life that benefits individuals, communities, and primary employers,” Aaron shares in his Introducing Re:Force blog post.
He further explains, “We’re building a new, paid ‘service-force’ that enables individuals to fill vital frontline roles while maintaining their primary careers.” Aaron emphasizes that everyone has the capacity to contribute, even those who never envisioned themselves in patient-facing roles, and believes that this initiative allows people to address some of society's most pressing challenges in a meaningful, hands-on way.
Following Aaron’s very successful career at McKinsey, we are thrilled to see Aaron start this new journey as a founder/entrepreneur. His desire to help others, to use the power of innovation and entrepreneurship to ‘Fix Things that Matter” and be a force for good exemplifies the entrepreneurial expertise and spirit that the ESTEEM graduate program strives to teach and instill in its graduates. We are eager to see the impact Re:Force can deliver at scale – and will continue to support Aaron at every stage of this new journey.
