ESTEEM Students Pitch their Ideas

Author: Emily Tyson

Every other Thursday ESTEEM students have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to an audience of ESTEEM staff and their fellow students.  This week three teams of students pitched their ideas for products and solutions:

  • Adding value to a collegiate fan's enjoyment and support of their team with school logo/color soaps.
  • Addressing the frustration braces wearers experience with a brushing & flossing solution.
  • Developing a stream-lined and multi-functional laptop case for Apple users.

The pitch session followed the same format now established: each team -- in this session all ideas happened to be presented by teams of two students -- took 5 minutes to present their idea, using slides to support their pitch, and then staff and students from the audience asked questions and probed further.  At the end of the 10 minute response period, staff members asked the teams what their next steps were and what they needed to create a prototype and further develop their business plan.
