Reimagining Sustainable Fabrics Activewear Market

Student: Anne Nebbia, 2021-2022

Sponsor: Fox & Robin, Chicago

Fox & Robin is an ethical activewear brand that creates top quality products for all levels of activity. As a Benefit Corporation, they are committed to conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. Fox & Robin the only activewear brand to disclose their factory workers' wages. This is important considering that roughly 2 percent of workers in the global garment supply chain receive a living wage that meets their basic needs. Moreover, the fashion industry is detrimental to our planet. Clothing production depletes resources, consumes energy and emits greenhouse gasses. While clothing waste is outliving us in landfills and polluting aquatic ecosystems. I will thoroughly research the current state of sustainable fabrics and identify which are well suited for adoption by Fox & Robin. I will analyze the many criteria that can be used to recognize sustainable materials such as low water need, low energy need, made from renewable resources, recyclable, and biodegradable. After collecting consumer perceptions, I will contact suppliers to decide which fabrics are financially viable. Then, we can launch a marketing strategy that will maintain the company's commitment to transparency.
